Basic Job Functions:

The primary responsibility of the Seamer Operator is to setup and operate the Oteman and cut material panels for our final product assembly. This position will also support our vinyl weld department and will be responsible for setup and operating the vinyl RF welder according to the production schedule.
Measure, review and layout materials per the order specifications.
Set up and program equipment and make any necessary changes.
Replenish materials and load into machine via the use of forklift or overhead crane.
Change out tooling when necessary.
Utilize software to program correct files according to the production schedule.
Cut material using Oteman or weld material using the vinyl RF welder.
Inspect and examine work pieces to ensure quality of material meets the requirement of the customer.
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous experience using Microsoft software.
Strong mechanical background.
Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions and blueprints.
Ability to prioritize and follow the production schedule via iPad.
Ability to safely operate a forklift and an overhead crane.
Requires operating hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools, fabrication tools and measuring devices.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintaining instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
