Medical Records Coordinator

Job Summary:

Portland Health and Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking an outstanding Medical Records Coordinator to upload and gather medical records information using the the facility's Electronic Health Records System.

Essential Functions:

  • Confirms medical record information is protected and kept confidential.
  • Verifies that health record information is filed accurately and appropriately to resident’s charts, overflow records, and discharge records.
  • Identifies incomplete documentation (audits) and reports to individuals responsible for completion.
  • Mails documents to Center physicians as required for appropriate signatures and timely notification.
  • Manages time-frames for returned signed documentation.
  • Maintains bound Master Admission & Discharge Register for admissions and discharges to and from the Center.
  • Verifies information on master resident face sheet is completed.
  • Verifies Medicare residents have timely certifications/re-certifications signed by the attending physician.

Education, Licensure, And Experience:

  • Require: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Experience with Point Click Care software 
  • Preferred: One-year experience as a medical records practitioner in a long-term care.
