Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the facility. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to the Physician during weight loss procedures;
  • Sterilize equipment according to established procedures and guidelines;
  • Maintain exam rooms between patients;
  • Measure and record patients' manual vital signs;
  • IV Insertion & Phlebotomy;
  • Update, scan and upload medical records;
  • Assist during medical examinations;
  • Communicate necessary patient testing and examinations as directed by the Physician;
  • Respond to all incoming patient inquiries and calls
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Ability to follow and apply the practice's existing clinical and administrative guidelines and procedures (no exceptions);
  • Ability to adequately train in handling endoscopic devices and competently provide technical assistance to the physician during procedures;
  • Ability to rotate among different tasks in the medical office and procedure room;
  • Certificate of Medical Assistant training or equivalent is a plus;
  • Heartsaver Certification from American Heart Association and/or BCLS is a plus.
