What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate emergency services and site personnel as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, entrances, common areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, while maintaining awareness of resident privacy and the needs of a shelter environment.
  • Document incidents, observations, patrol activities, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Must have at least 3 years of either military, law enforcement, corrections or armed security experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
