About this position

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a staff of CDL Drivers and Warehouse Associates. The Operations Manager will oversee delivery of products to our clients in a timely manner, maintain inventory levels, and work with a team to achieve the branchโ€™s goals. Must possess strong communication skills and a passion for safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and develop a team of material handlers and drivers by developing metrics, coaching and evaluating performance, and using productivity systems of measurement
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to employment, safety, OSHA Standards, and DOT regulations
  • Fill customer orders accurately, safely, on time, and without damage
  • Collaborate and foster a positive relationship with Sales and Administrative functions
  • Ensure effective product performance and promote good customer and supplier relations
  • Recognize employee achievements and encourage excellence through employee engagement
  • Plan and conduct regular staff meetings and branch level events
  • Host operations meetings to monitor operational issues, customer concerns, and compliance and safety regulations
  • Ensure staff are following safe work practices, completing job duties efficiently, and that adequate support is provided
  • Adhere to high ethical and professional standards set forth by the company
  • Interact with customers, vendors, and other leaders on a regular basis to ensure client satisfaction and promote improved services
REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience
  • Experience in logistics, manufacturing, or distribution strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think independently and critically, analyze and solve problems, and successfully implement solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills; must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to change course quickly as needed
  • Experience with Microsoft applications
