Our busy cardiology practice is seeking an experienced and personable Medical Receptionist to join our team in Fairhope, Alabama. This position serves as a key point of contact for our patients and is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, check-in and check-out, and managing medical referrals.


The ideal candidate will have previous medical office or hospital experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask while providing excellent patient service in a fast-paced medical office environment.


This is a full-time, day shift position withno weekends and paid holidays off.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Register patients and ensure demographic and insurance information is accurate and up to date
  • Check patients in and out for appointments
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general questions
  • Obtain, verify, and monitor medical referrals
  • Check for active referrals and assist with referral-related documentation
  • Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Provide excellent customer service and help ensure a positive patient experience
  • Assist with additional front-office responsibilities as needed
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient daily operations


Qualifications
