Job description

Oncology Medical Laboratory Technician Or Medical Technologist

Our client is seeking a skilled Oncology Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist to join their team. You will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and perform a wide range of clinical tests, including both automated and manual procedures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team environment and demonstrate a strong willingness to grow and expand their skills.

Pay starting at $25.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $35.00 based on shift differentials, skill proficiency, and supervisory responsibilities. Performance bonuses. Medical, dental, and life insurance. 401(k) Plan with a 5% employer match. Paid time off (PTO) and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine analysis on specimens and interpret results using approved testing procedures without error and within designated turnaround time.
  • Monitor test systems to ensure acceptable performance levels and perform corrective actions when needed.
  • Follow CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.
  • Report any performance, compliance, or staffing-related issues to supervisors.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems promptly to maintain seamless laboratory operations.
  • Communicate any issues with results or testing to the client services and operations teams.
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations to enhance workflow.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to streamline collaboration and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
  • MLT, MT/CLS, Louisiana State Licensed.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related science.
  • Experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician.
