We are currently looking for a QA Lab Manager in our Evansville, IN office.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of Quality Control and Development Chemists
  • Execute and oversee process and analytical development, product development and manufacturing support of the company's wiped film evaporator technology
  • Develop and execute design of experiments, scientific systems and operational plans to achieve the company's scientific objectives and development strategy
  • Conduct experiments using bench and pilot scale R&D tools to support the New Business Development manager.
  • Develop and train the QC team in best scientific practices, project management techniques and problem solving
  • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of current and future manufacturing processes and direct process optimization studies
  • Manage QC lab budget, project schedule, engineering requirements and safety reviews as needed.
  • Manage routine and preventative maintenance activities for Quality Control Lab and R&D equipment
  • Create and distribute analytical reports to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Abide by the principles in the EHS&S mission statement.
  • Responsibilities and training outlined in the RCRA Hazwaste Job Duties Matrix.
  • Abide by Chem Group's quality policy.

Requirements

Skills and Education Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering (with a strong chemistry background) required. Experience in industrial distillation preferred; experience in wipe film evaporators highly preferred.
  • 5-10 years industrial chemical lab experience.
  • Strong background in industrial fluids, polymeric materials, and synthesis required.
  • A clear record of scientific achievement and leadership required.
  • Knowledge of process development in related industry segments required.
  • Ability to direct research in established industrial laboratories, preferably in the industrial fluid, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical industries.
  • Ability to develop and support large scale manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Time management, team work, attention to details, and safety awareness are key personal values
