Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Lab Assistant you will support scientific professionals by preparing samples, and maintaining specliaized equipment.
Every day you will perform, routine maintenance and repair on instruments utilized as directed.
To be successful in this role, you will perform rountine automated testing in multiple areas of the clinical laboratory in a timely manner under direct supervision of licensed personnel.
  • Quality control for testing performed will be reviewed by licensed personnel.
  • Clinical lab functions are clerical in nature, including, but not limited to such acts as patient registration, telephone communication, filing, sorting, distribution, typing, data entry and frequent use of laboratory computer system(s) to process specimens.
  • Verifies eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, PCP approval, and billing requirements as appropriate.
  • Work out of various patient service centers.
  • Use of personal vehicles may be required.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Six (6) months of experience as a laboratory assistant
  • Six (6) months of experience in phlebotomy working in an acute care facility
  • Current California Phlebotomy certification (CT PHLEBOT)
    • Medical Laboratory Technician certification can be accepted in lieu of
  • Current AHA CPR certification (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred
  • One (1) year of experience as a laboratory assistant in an acute care facility
