Summary:

We are seeking a junior structural engineer for our Tempe office who will work with a competent multi-discipline team of peers with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders.ย 

Responsibilities:

ย ย  ย Design steel structural systems ranging from simple to complex for industrial and semiconductor facilities. Focus is equipment support and seismic design, including equipment anchorage, pipe/ductwork/conduit supports, access platform and stairway designs, and analysis of existing structures.ย 
ย ย  ย Creation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
ย ย  ย Coordination with design team members in mechanical, electrical and other disciplines.
ย ย  ย Participation in client design review meetings and presentation of design strategies.
ย ย  ย Preparation of specifications and reports.

Job Requirements

ย ย  ย Understanding of current building codes, particularly IBC and local amendments and ASCE7.
ย ย  ย Familiar with common structural materials (particularly steel) and material-specific codes such as ACI and AISC.
ย ย  ย Excellent interpersonal skills and team a player.
ย ย  ย Excellent technical writing ability.
ย ย  ย Highly organized.
ย ย  ย Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially as they relate to engineering and construction.
ย ย  ย Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and RISA.
ย ย  ย Dedication and commitment, including punctuality and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

Education and Experience:
BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
ย ย  ย 3+ years of structural engineering design experience.
ย ย  ย Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients is preferred.
ย ย  ย EIT, PE or SE registration.
