Progyny [NASDAQ: PGNY] is a leading healthcare company reshaping family building by providing innovative fertility benefits to millions of people. We are hiring a Business Analyst to join the Medical Economics and Analytics team in New York City. This role will primarily support the Sales team.
Our team develops the data, financial models, and analytical insights that support the nation's leading fertility benefits management company. In this role, you'll partner closely with Sales and cross-functional teams to deliver pricing analyses, financial models, network access evaluations, and market-facing materials that drive business growth. You'll develop deep expertise in healthcare data and benefits while helping shape competitive solutions for prospective clients.
What You'll Do
  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) in Progyny claims, utilization, pricing, and financial models.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize financial models using advanced Excel, SQL, and VBA.
  • Perform network access analyses and translate technical model outputs into clear, actionable insights.
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive proposals, RFP responses, and other market-facing materials.
  • Learn new tools and business processes quickly while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Sales, Marketing, Client Success, Product, Engineering, and Finance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with analytical focus in healthcare, epidemiology, finance, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience in healthcare, insurance, consulting, analytics, or related field.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analyzing large datasets (30M+ rows).
  • Experience using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) or similar development environments.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity to learn new tools, systems, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and insurance terminology, employer benefits, and claims data.
  • Experience working in modern development environments and IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Cursor, PyCharm, or similar) to develop, maintain, and automate analytical solutions.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or similar) to accelerate analysis or workflows.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with customer-facing teams, such as Sales or Account Management.

Hybrid work schedule: Requires three days per week in-office in New York City (Midtown)

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $75,000 - 85,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
