Job description

Position Summary

The Associate Director, Global Medical Neuroscience Medical Communications supports development and execution of medical communications strategies across the BMS Neuroscience portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development/execution of medical communications strategy for assigned Neuroscience therapeutic areas.

  • Contribute to AIMS teams and execution plans; support Scientific Narrative pullโ€‘through, SCP application, publication plans, and content strategies.

  • Develop and execute highโ€‘quality personalized medical communications (timely journal submissions, peerโ€‘reviewed publications, congress presentations, internal/external scientific content).

  • Partner in a global matrix to support quality planning and timely communication of key scientific information; adapt plans based on clinical trial results/milestones/healthcare landscape.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned therapeutic areas (HCP preferences, publication/content planning, data disclosure/dissemination) and ensure activities align with GPP/ICMJE and industry standards.

  • Partner crossโ€‘functionally (Medical Strategy, Commercial, Regulatory, Safety, HEOR) and represent disease areas in forums; support metrics and vendor collaboration.

  • Mentor junior staff; model scientific integrity; complete SOPs/training and ensure compliance.


Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced scientific degree required (PharmD/PhD/MD preferred).

  • Experience: 5+ years progressive pharma/healthcare experience focused on medical communications strategy/execution; global, matrixed Medical Communications experience preferred.

  • Expertise: Medical affairs/publications/scientific content development/data dissemination background; Neuroscience experience preferred.

  • Knowledge/Skills: Strong scientific acumen and data analysis; working knowledge of GPP/ICMJE, Sunshine Act, Pharma Code of Conduct; CMPP and ISMPP membership desired.

  • Ability: Lead in matrix, strategic thinking, crossโ€‘functional collaboration, excellent communication; Microsoft suite; travel required.
