Job description

Summary

Assists physiciansin delivering patient care in the ambulatory setting. The MA assists in thedelivery of patient care to people of diverse backgrounds and must be able toeffectively communicate and assist the patients and their families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Escort patientsto exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, enter all medicaldocument/records in EMR system, complete all measures needed for meaningfuluse. ย 
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations; Assist physician in exam rooms.
  • Assist physicianswith all patient care, medication refills, ordering of diagnostic testing.Coordinate continuity of patient care with healthcare organizations andfacilities.
  • Answers the phone while maintaining a polite,consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette. Return all patientcalls and messages and providefeedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
  • Operates computer software and office equipment.
  • Perform other duties as needed to assistcoworkers, which may include schedule/reschedule patient appointments, checkin/out patients, answering phones, etc.
