GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an career/ technical certificate in Nursing; Associate, Baccalaureate, or Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as a registered nurse, with at least one (1) year experience in long-term care. Must hold an unencumbered nursing license to practice in Mississippi. Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen, and other clinical requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

1. Maintain current professional credentials and certifications as required in respective field.
2. Cooperate in the execution of the college, center, division, and program policies, procedures and guidelines.

5. Complete required professional development activities by designated deadlines.

Attendance
Work a minimum of 35 hours each week (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester. Meet all assigned classes, lab, simulation, and clinical assignments. Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for all duty days. Notify immediate supervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence. Submit to program chairperson an accurate record of attendance by designated deadlines. Request scheduled time off prior to an absence unless there is an emergency. Attend general faculty, center, and program meetings. Attend required professional development activities.
