GENERAL SUMMARY:
Eligible for $2000 SIGN-ON BONUS - Join Our Team as a Clinical Tech at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital!
Department: Medical ICU
Location: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, 205 N East Ave., Jackson, MI 49201
Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 hours shifts)

As a Clinical Tech, you'll play a hands-on role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care under the guidance of our dedicated nursing staff and physicians. Whether you're taking vitals, assisting with procedures, or simply ensuring comfort, you'll be a vital part of the patient journey.
Medical Universal Bed Unit - 22 bed unit
• Mixed acuity unit specializing in medical intensive care through discharge
• Growth opportunities for all levels of nursing

• Subject matter experts and a resource for the entire hospital - code team, rapid response team
• High engagement with team camaraderie
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Your day-to-day impact includes:
• Collecting and recording essential patient data - vitals, food and fluid intake/output, and more - with precision and care.
• Responding to patient needs and partnering with RNs to ensure maximum comfort and safety.
• Noticing the little changes that can make a big difference - and reporting them promptly.
• Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.
• Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post-pacemaker procedures.
• Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.
• Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.
• Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.
• Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients - from pediatrics to geriatrics.
• Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.
• Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.
Qualifications - External
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
  • Current nursing student who has minimally completed two semesters or has graduated from a Registered Nurse program
  • Graduate of an LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program
  • Certified in Phlebotomy
  • Previous Clinical Tech experience

Also required:
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
  • Valid BLS certification (or must be obtained during Patient Care Orientation)
