Medical Records Release Specialist

In medical practice since 1919, Wolfe Eye Clinic is a multi-specialty clinic providing surgical services and vision care throughout Iowa. At Wolfe Eye Clinic, we create Better Vision for a Better Life.

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Records Release Specialist in our Marshalltown clinic.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining medical records.
  • Scanning and uploading documents.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing requests for medical records from patients, physicians, attorneys, and insurance companies in accordance with office policy and applicable laws.
  • Communicating professionally with physicians, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Handling insurance company chart audits.
  • Processing legal documents and proxy forms.
  • Managing requests for physician expert opinions and depositions.
  • Performing other duties as needed.

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask while remaining organized.
  • Ability to portray a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.  
  • Ability to work independently while following procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely execution.

Preferred (but not required) qualifications are:

  • Previous experience in a medical office.
