Qualifications:
  • Experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims processing, payment posting, and denial management.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee daily medical billing operations ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with 3rd party billing/offshore team and respond to questions/inquiries
  • Prioritize and organize billing tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • File appeals and follow up on claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Prepare deposits for incoming patient payments, insurance companies, non-patient payments.  
  • Maintain professional and positive communication with patients, especially in difficult situations, and collaborate effectively with co-workers.
  • Work closely with all departments to provide input related to billing processes and impacts.
  • Stay informed and compliant with multiple insurance plan guidelines (PPO, HMO, EPO, POS, etc.) related to SHMD services. Training will be provided.
  • Assist with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing processes. Training will be provided.
  • Access multiple insurance portals and third-party platforms.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an associate degree or online program in medical billing and coding OR at least 5 years prior experience in general medical billing knowledge.
  • Computer and internet literate with proficiency in Office 365, Outlook, and Office Suite.
  • Intermediate level internet navigation skills, including the ability to manage multiple tabs and windows simultaneously.
  • Strong keyboarding and typing skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in an organized manner.
  • Knowledge of multiple insurance plan guidelines (PPO, HMO, EPO, POS, etc.) related to SHMD services. Training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in filing appeals and following up on claims.
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) billing is preferred. Training will be provided.
  • Experience with Athena (EMR) is preferred.
  • Maintain a professional, positive attitude when interacting with patients and co-workers.
