Job description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Frisco, TX 

Responsibilities: 

•   Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts. •   Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner•   Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test •   Fill out testing orders per physician •   Send out prescriptions per physician orders•   Orders & explain testing to the patient •   Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests •   Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back •   Review procedure and instructions with the patient•   Escort patients to check-out •   Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW•   Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought •   Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included•  Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics •   Safeguard the privacy of patient health information •   Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:  

•    Completion of a Medical Assistant program•    Cardiac Experience •    Knowledge in medical terminology•    Ability to effectively communicate
