Job description

Jay Chavda, MD-PA has been serving patients in the Houston area for more 30 years. He specializes in Ear, Nose, and Throat care, but can also extend to hearing services, physical therapy, and allergy treatment for his patients. The clinic also is family-owned and operated, and the staff atmosphere is very cooperative. The clinic sees anywhere from 30-40 patients per day for various services.

Our organization is seeking a Medical Assistant to help support the Otolaryngology team by gathering and recording patient history, preparing patients for examination, and performing other routine tasks. Our Medical Assistants are dedicated to helping patients and make sure that they are comfortable throughout their time with us. Our staff truly believe in providing high quality patient care, and this position is excellent for individuals who enjoy helping people and working in a clinic setting.

Job requirements:
1. Must be familiar with practices in a medical office and be proficient in computer skills.
2. Must speak fluent Spanish
3. Must be comfortable checking in and checking out patients. In our Kingwood clinic, only a small staff follows the doctor. The Medical Assistant must be willing to handle care from when the patient walks in the door to when the patient walks out. On occasion, the job role will also require flexibility of duties. This will depend on demands of the clinic and if other staff is out for the day.
4. Schedule for work is Monday - Friday. Monday may be a travel day to Kingwood, TX. Jay Chavda, MD-PA offers mileage reimbursement for travel to the Kingwood clinic location.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
  • Communicate locations where patient orders are sent via email, fax, and phone call
  • Escort patients to exam rooms
  • Compile chief complaint, thorough history, and vitals for each patient
  • address check out of assigned patients, sending prescription and orders as directed by the PA and Doctor, and responding to questions as necessary
  • Manage task load of patient-facing tasks, phone calls, faxing out orders, etc.
  • Work under a Medical Assistant supervisory with a team of 3 medical assistants

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
  • Familiarity with back office patient care
