What We Offer
Novant Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support our Palliative Care Team. The CMA will coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
  • Manage an average daily caseload of 4-5 patients
  • Take and document vital signs during visits
  • Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Provide coverage for team members' PTO as needed
  • Support clinic or team needs when no patient appointments are scheduled
  • Mileage reimbursement provided

What We're Looking For
Education: High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required
Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required
Additional Skills/Requirements (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
