Job description

Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced ***Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy***.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required in a lab setting. Must be willing to work MA and phlebotomy position/s. Combination of both, cross training.

This is a FULL TIME/TEMP position requiring availability between the hours of 8AM-4:30PM, Monday through Friday, located in Suffolk, VA.
Responsibilities:
A Day in the life of a Phlebotomist:
As a Phlebotomist you will be responsible for blood draws, preparing specimens, reconciles lab reports daily in EMR, maintains current and accurate documentation by CLIA and COLA standards. Must be comfortable in drawing blood in a fast paced environment.
Requirements for the Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Skills:
  • Required: 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting as a phlebotomist
  • Required: ASCP eligible or registered preferred (completion of an appropriate medical assistant/phlebotomy course) or formerly certified.
  • Required: BLS
  • Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
  • Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
  • Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Required: Knowledge of drawing blood for infant and children along with adults
  • Required: Current valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, good driving record

Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Skills:
  • Preferred: Gastroenterology experience preferred
