Sanctuary Functional Medicine is seeking a Lab Assistant who demonstrates a strong passion and eagerness to excel in Functional Health and integrative medicine and who wants to specialize in learning to treat complex chronic illnesses.
  • This is a unique opportunity for a Lab Assistant pursuing a career in functional medicine to work in an interdisciplinary program under the mentorship of Dr. Eric Potter (Internist & Pediatrician) Enjoy a career that is cutting edge but also truly rewarding in an environment where patients really do appreciate what you do for them.
  • We care for patients who have complex cases such as CIRS, mold toxicity, Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, mast cell activation, hormone dysfunction, PANS/PANDAS, cardiovascular disease, leaky gut, SIBO, Type II Diabetes, and much more. 
Position Summary: 
  • The Lab Assistant works to assist the Lab Manager to ensure that all lab operations run smoothly, working to provide data to the clinical staff that helps them treat the chronically ill.
  • The Lab Assistant will assist in managing operations to run smoothly by scheduling staff, ordering supplies, maintaining health and safety protocols, and training additional lab assistants and phlebotomists. 
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Oversees the accurate processing and management of biological specimens, ensuring compliance with established clinical protocols and quality standards.
  • Follows strict safety and health standards  
  • Maintains clean and stocked lab room 
  • Appropriate documentation in MDHQ for lab visits. 
  • Collaborates with staff to provide appropriate patient care. 
Required Qualifications: 
License/Certification: 
  • Education: High School Diploma 
  • Lab Certification/Phlebotomist  
  • Experience: 1-3 years of related experience 
 Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to build rapport with patients. 
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, as well as multitasking. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to work with adults, as well as pediatric patients. 
  • Must be open-minded to training and willing to learn new techniques. 
  • Computer EMR proficiency, Microsoft office.
