What is a medical advisor?

A medical advisor uses their experience and training to advise companies on the scientific development and improvement of their products. The duties of a medical advisor may also involve translating regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and helping companies market and sell their products. These health care experts typically work for pharmaceutical and medical supply companies.

What is a medical advisor?

A Medical Advisor is a healthcare professional, often with a background in medicine or pharmacy, who provides scientific and clinical guidance to pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, or regulatory bodies. Their role involves interpreting medical data, supporting clinical trials, and ensuring that products and communications comply with medical and ethical standards. They also act as a bridge between medical experts, regulatory authorities, and commercial teams to ensure accurate and effective medical information is shared. Medical Advisors play a key role in product development, medical education, and the safe use of medications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a medical advisor?

To thrive as a Medical Advisor, you need a strong background in medicine or pharmacy, typically with an advanced degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) and in-depth knowledge of clinical research and therapeutic areas. Familiarity with medical information systems, pharmacovigilance databases, and regulatory guidelines, along with certifications in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), are commonly required. Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills help you effectively translate complex data and build trust with healthcare professionals. These skills ensure accurate medical guidance, regulatory compliance, and strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners.

What are some common challenges medical advisors face when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Medical Advisors frequently work with diverse teams, such as marketing, regulatory affairs, clinical research, and sales, to provide scientific and medical expertise. One common challenge is ensuring that complex medical information is communicated clearly and accurately to non-medical colleagues while aligning with both commercial and compliance objectives. Navigating different priorities and timelines across departments also requires strong interpersonal and project management skills. Successful Medical Advisors build collaborative relationships and act as trusted scientific partners within the organization.

Customer Advisor / Conseiller(ère) à la clientèle (FortNine)

FortNine

Montreal, QC • On-site

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life

Job description

French version belowCustomer Advisor (FortNine)

FortNine Group

One platform. Every enthusiast. Every state of the journey.

At FortNine, our Customer Service team is at the heart of who we are and what we do. Providing sincere and genuinely helpful service will always be our endgame. Everything we do is built around making the customer experience better and creating real connections with our community.

Whether you're a powersports pro or have never been on a bike before, we'll give you the tools and training you need to become a full-fledged FortNiner. What we're looking for is someone who's already great at helping people and wants to keep getting better at it.

This role sits inside FortNine. You'll be the person our riders turn to when they need a real answer, not a script.

We want to invest in the right people with real growth, real ownership, and real advancement. We're looking for someone who wants to build something here, and we'll invest in helping you do that.

You don't need to know powersports inside and out on day one. You'll start with hands-on training on our systems, tools, products, and processes, then build the knowledge you need to become a trusted resource for our customers over time.

We're not a generic call centre. Everything at FortNine is done in-house, from our software to our warehouse operations, and we obsess over the customer experience. Our culture thrives on individual personalities and a strong work ethic. People genuinely love what they do here and are encouraged to lean into their strengths and quirks rather than fit into a mould.

This is a Full Time position.

The salary range for a fully trained agent is between $20 - $25 / hour!

The starting salary for this role begins at $20 / hour and increases to $21.75 / hour once training has been successfully completed. You will also receive a bonus for completing training as soon as you're through, and another increase after your first seasonal period!

What you'll be doing
  • Advising customers by phone and email on cancellations, modifications, shipping/billing inquiries, post-order problems, and ride-specific questions about gear fitment, compatibility across bikes and setups, maintenance basics, seasonal gear (street, dirt, and snow), and common upgrades. No sales targets, no retention quotas, and no high-pressure calls. Just genuinely helping people.
  • Building toward becoming an internal go-to on riding gear and compatibility, while helping keep our knowledge base sharp and contributing to improvements across teams.
  • Operating with real autonomy. We don't micromanage. We trust great people to use their judgment, take ownership, and get things done.
  • Moving fast and accurately across multiple systems without losing the details that matter.
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who's great at customer service and looking for a place to put down roots. You're independent, detail-oriented, take real pride in your work, and when you see something that could be better, you want to help improve it. FortNine is a relaxed place to work, but we take that work seriously. We trust great people to take ownership, use their judgment, and get things done. Most importantly, we want people to genuinely love what they do, knowing they work somewhere they can make a difference.
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of your work and using your own judgment.
  • Comfortable across multiple computer systems and genuinely good at digging up answers online.
  • Customer service or e-commerce experience is a strong asset. Powersports experience is too. Bring us either! We'll help you build the rest.
  • If you do have real, lived experience with moto, dirt, snow, or all three, tell us what you ride, wrench on, or know inside out. We want to hear about it.
  • Bilingual: English & French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine desire to learn, improve, and make things better for our customers, our team, and the company.

Strong performers can see real advancement within 6 to 12 months.

If this sounds like your next chapter, not a pit stop, we want to hear from you.

How you benefit:
• We’re located within a 5-minute walk from Du College metro (orange line). We also offer free parking, right on-site.
• Health Insurance including medical, dental, vision and life.
• Free unlimited healthy snacks and drinks.
• Clean and newly built office environment with ergonomic workstations, and a work-from-home allocation for remote opportunities that you can use to improve your own space.
• A team of energetic, respectful, and friendly coworkers.
• A few more perks that we keep secret! (Though you can expect some fun events, company branded apparel, special deals on equipment, and a variety of fun opportunities!)

About FortNine:
FortNine is one of North America's fastest growing e-commerce stores in the Powersports industry. We are headquartered in Montreal, QC and employ a quickly growing team consisting of creative, energetic, and highly dedicated individuals representing a diverse range of expertise.
We aim to provide our customers with the best powersports merchandise, while providing an elite customer experience.
