CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Job Title: Media Planner
Reports to: Senior Media Planner
OVERVIEW
The Media Planner will primarily be responsible for the strategic investment and reliable execution of our client's advertising campaigns. Media Planners are expected to maintain responsibilities across multiple accounts. Tasks include campaign media planning, external media negotiations, support of client projects and needs, and development of strong relationships with external media partners so as to satisfy clients' objectives. A successful Media Planner must be detail-oriented, organized, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Curate audio based media plans and provide rationale behind recommendations utilizing, but not limited to, client KPI goals, allocated budgets, and target demo information. Utilize external research tools to form recommendations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with audio networks and partners across podcasts, radio, digital streaming platforms, and YouTube influencers. Work with networks to discuss client needs, negotiate rates and terms, and support active campaigns through optimizations
• Develop a strong working knowledge of audio-influencer channels. Be able to articulate why a show or channel may or may not be right for a client's business goals or budget
• Lead client recommendations & presentations for media related channels and content
• Work with the account strategy team to ensure that client budgets, flowcharts, and network contracts match what is approved to book
• Ensure that all campaigns are accurately entered into the audio buying system, and all orders are accurate, countersigned, and returned. Conduct audits to ensure campaigns are up to date and do not require revisions
• Support the Ad Ops team to onboard networks and shows with educating them on campaign expectations (client products, measurement, creative, etc.)
• Work with finance on billing actualizations, missing invoices, and mismatches to finalize invoicing to clients on a monthly cadence
DESIRED SKILLS FOR SUCCESS IN THIS POSITION
• At least 3 years' work experience in media, marketing, or advertising. Audio experience is preferred
• Critical thinking skills specifically within negotiations and tactical recommendations
• Deadline-oriented, being able to manage deadlines both with clients and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency in G-Suite as well as Excel (including, but not limited to pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions)
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time
• Collaborative worker and able to manage communications and projects across teams
• Self-described "go-getter" / hustler, anticipating the next step and action to make teams and client projects move forward
