Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Media and Theatre Services, the Media/Theatre Services Assistant participates in installing and maintaining class and conference room presentation and teaching systems. They also assist in setting up and operating events in the Ballad Regional Center for the Performing Arts as needed, which will include evenings and weekends, both during and after hours.
Job Duties
  • Assist with classroom technology installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist with the back-end setup of room control systems and interactive displays.
  • Assist with general inventory for classroom and institutional media assets.
  • Provide technical support for faculty and staff in the use of presentation technologies.
  • Assist with Zoom videoconferencing.
  • Assist in the management of institutional digital signage system.
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Assist with events in the auditorium or theatre setting, including hanging and focusing lighting instruments, setting up and striking staging, setting up microphones & monitors, operating sound and lighting systems for events.
  • Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Two (2) years of experience with relevant technology
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with room control and source switching technologies
• Working knowledge of theatrical lighting and sound systems
• Experience with projection, large format displays and presentation technologies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
