POSITION SUMMARY:
Jackson Family Wines is seeking an organized, driven, and detail-oriented Public Relations Coordinator to join our Public Relations team. This role is an essential part of the team, helping keep projects, programs, and day-to-day PR activities moving in a fast-paced environment and while supporting communications and PR efforts across our portfolio of world-class wines.

This position is based in Santa Rosa, CA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:
  • Support day-to-day PR activities and projects across the Jackson Family Wines portfolio, working closely with members of the PR team to keep programs organized and moving forward.
  • Manage and maintain wine acclaim and critic databases, including inputting scores, reviews, and other key information.
  • Monitor media coverage, manage press clippings, and alert the PR team to relevant coverage; assist with preparing coverage and critic updates for internal distribution.
  • Coordinate wine submissions to key scoring publications, including Wine Spectator, Robert Parker Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and others.
  • Manage the critic tasting calendar and assist with coordinating portfolio-wide tastings with key wine critics.
  • Track wine sample submissions and work closely with the PR team and shipping warehouse to coordinate daily sample requests and logistics.
  • Research and maintain targeted media lists to support PR campaigns, pitches, and outreach.
  • Assist with drafting and distributing targeted media pitches and other communications, working with the PR team to identify relevant story angles and media contacts.
  • Monitor assigned PR inboxes and route media and other inquiries to the appropriate team members.
  • Coordinate hospitality and travel logistics for visiting media and PR guests, including travel arrangements, itineraries, and other details.
  • Utilize Meltwater and other PR tools to support media monitoring, reporting, newsletters, and team projects.
  • Gather editorial calendars and track relevant media, editorial and promotional opportunities.
  • Stay current on the evolving media landscape, including new outlets, journalists, sommeliers, influencers, and industry trends.
  • Contribute ideas for storytelling opportunities, media outreach, influencer programs, events, and other PR initiatives.
  • Support event planning and execution, including event kits, itineraries, creative materials, shipping, and other logistics; attend and support events as needed.
  • Assist with compiling and consolidating PR results and reports for senior leadership.
  • Support department budget management, including invoice coding, auditing, routing, and reconciliation.
  • Assist with annual PR planning, team brainstorming, and other special projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Skills and Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in public relations, communications, an agency environment, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and willing to jump in and take ownership of getting things done.
  • Strong follow-through and a high level of accountability.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable working with data, databases, reporting, and administrative systems.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for public relations, media, storytelling, and communications.
  • Interest in wine and enthusiasm for learning more about the wine industry; knowledge of the industry and distribution landscape, including DTC and the three-tier system, is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating events, travel, or other logistics is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift and no two days are exactly the same.
  • Positive attitude, strong sense of humor, and an appreciation for a team that works hard and enjoys working together.

WAGE TRANSPARENCY: The base salary for this role ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Compensation will be determined based on candidate experience and skills.
