At Hy-Vee, we believe the shortest distance between two people is a smile. We're seeking professionals who bring proven skills, a desire to grow, and a commitment to work together in building a company that strives to make our customers' lives easier, healthier and happier.
The Role and Why It's Important
As a Senior Retail Media Analyst, you serve as an expert of, and advocate for, RedMedia data, using it to create compelling data stories that shape how our supplier partners invest in retail media. You bring a deep understanding of digital media metrics and measurement methodology, applying both to deliver strategic insights at the single-campaign level and across the broader business. You also own a pipeline of reports that internal partners and clients rely on to be accurate, timely, and clear. You act as the data and analytical expert for a pod of supplier partners, answering complex questions and providing clear, actionable insights to help them grow their business at RedMedia and Hy-Vee. Because data and analytics are foundational to successful client relationships, this role sets the standard for best-in-class reporting and analytical capabilities across the team.
If you are energized by digging into complex data, finding the story inside it, and telling that story in a way that changes what a partner does next, this role is a strong fit.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the analytics expert and advocate for RedMedia data, independently extracting, compiling, and interpreting data from multiple retail media platforms and sources and tying it together into one cohesive story.
  • Own a personal reporting pipeline end to end, identifying key reports, setting priorities, and keeping work moving to achieve strict SLA timelines.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting on campaign performance and key metrics, making deliberate decisions about slide structure, visualization, and formatting so that every report delivers thoughtful, actionable insight and a clear "what next."
  • Customize benchmarks by category, brand size, campaign type or a combination, to give partners a robust and relevant point of comparison.
  • Lead report share-outs with PODs and clients, surfacing the key data points and themes concisely, addressing underperformance directly, and outlining clear steps to improve results on future campaigns.
  • Conduct custom and ad hoc analysis in response to key data requests from internal partners and clients, researching performance drivers, added context, and comparisons to strengthen the insight.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Media Planning to understand campaign objectives, support customer segmentation and targeting strategies, and present data stories that demonstrate positive business outcomes and ROI.
  • Implement and optimize automated processes for data analysis and reporting, including the effective use of Hy-Vee-approved AI tools, to sharpen insights, add research depth, and improve efficiency.
  • Guide and mentor junior analysts, and maintain and expand knowledge of data platforms and tools to continuously improve analysis and reporting quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality with all client, supplier, and company information.

Your Skills
  • Commitment to the Hy-Vee mission and a willingness to promote the values of the company.
  • Fluency in retail media measurement and data, with the ability to hold a substantive conversation with suppliers or internal partners about our methodology, including incrementality, multi-touch attribution models, New Buyer, and attribution windows.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, medians and percentiles, and clear visualization of results; proficiency with Power BI and other data visualization platforms; proficiency with SQL preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to pull data from multiple disparate sources and tie it together into a single cohesive story, with sound judgment about how to structure, visualize, and format that story.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting complex data sets and generating thoughtful, actionable insights, paired with the depth of research to identify key performance drivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders concisely and clearly.
  • Strong initiative and a desire to take ownership of key processes and deliverables, in order to improve quality, timeliness, and effectiveness.
  • Deep curiosity for data and the customer shopping journey, and a passion for leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality as it pertains to client, supplier, and company information.
