Whatย Youโ€™llย Doย 

  • Evaluate schedules, work performance quality, safety oversight, coordination effectiveness, and perform documentation reviews for all repair and construction work in progress or in planning stages at above-referenced facilities.ย 

  • Ensures conformance with NFPA codes, JCAHO standards, safety standards, and otherย agency criteria.ย 

  • Meet daily with construction contractors to ensureย they are meetingย the requirements of all USACE Quality Assurance Engineering Regulations, such as ER-1180-1-6, and MEDCOM QA reporting.ย 

  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to include Facilities, Logistics, Med Maintenance, the construction contractor, Regional Facilities staff, DPW PM staff, and project-related Corps of Engineers staff. Coordinates with facility infection control officers toย ensureย compliance. Coordinates with facility safety officers to implement effective safety policies.ย 

  • Reports compliance issues; monitors construction contractor quality control activities and makesย appropriate recommendationsย to COR for Government action.ย 

  • Coordinate and meet with on-site contractors performing construction and adhere to the requirements of all USACE Quality Assurance Engineering Regulations, including but not limited to ER-1180-1-6 and all MEDCOM guidance on QA reporting.ย 

  • Present atย utility outages to provide engineering and contractor support.ย 

  • Attends andย participatesย in pre-construction, staff, in-progress-reviews, and other project-related meetings, and provides reports to COR orย appropriate Governmentย officials.ย 

  • Prepare written reports to government officialsย toย apprise them of project statusย 

  • Provide QA services and effective coordination for all repair and construction work in progress or in planning stages at referenced facility.ย ย Examples include QA services to:ย ย 

  • Evaluate schedulesย ย 

  • Work performance quality. Monitor construction contractor's QC activities and makes recommendations to CORย ย 

  • Project safety oversightย ย 

  • Perform documentation reviewsย ย 

  • Ensure conformance with NFPA, The Joint Commission (TJC), safetyย standardsย and other agency criteriaย ย ย 

  • Provide effective coordination:ย ย 

  • Coordinates with facility infection control for to ensure projectsย are in compliance withย appropriate precautionsย ย 

  • Coordinates with facility Safety personnel for compliance with facility and NAVFAC policiesย ย 

  • Coordinates and reports compliance to the Contracting Officer of Record (COR)ย ย ย 

  • Execute duties in an ethical, non-discriminatory manner and promote a safe work environment.ย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Haveย 

  • Experience in healthcare construction, military medical facilities preferredย 

  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, & Project).ย 

  • Demonstrated experience in hospital electronic systems in general, and nurse call systems specifically. andย demonstratedย experienceย assistingย Nurse Call Engineers with scheduling and work planning.ย 

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project management staff in project meetings or individually to correct and prepare documents and products for submission.ย 

  • Development and production of basic office correspondence such as official letters and business documents to include weekly project status reports.ย 

  • Must be able to walk on difficult terrain,ย liftย upย to 20 pounds.ย 

  • Customer service skills with a high degree of communication capability.ย 

  • Ability to perform under pressure at times and takes pride in understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer needs with an emphasis on producing high-quality documents and products.ย 

  • Government Security Requirement:ย Must have or be able to successfully passย an adjudicatedย Tier 3 (formally known as the National Agency Check with Local Agency check and Credit Check (NACLC)) background investigation to access and work on US Government computer systems.ย 

  • Mustย possessย experience in construction related quality control, projectย managementย or Facility management for hospital project(s).ย 

  • Experience withย analyzing and diagnosing logic errors in project schedules.ย 

  • Five (5)ย years' experienceย in constructing and/or renovating commercial buildings.ย 

  • Experience working on a military installation is a plus.ย
