Job description

Top Area Healthcare Facility, 800am to 430pm, weekdays

Minimum of 1+ year of experience performing one or more of the following:
o Patient registration
o Appointment scheduling
o Medical insurance verification
o Insurance screening
o Billing or front-end revenue cycle support
•Previous healthcare setting experience preferred.
•Experience working in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, specialty clinic, patient access department, or similar patient-facing healthcare environment preferred.
•Experience managing patient demographics, insurance information, appointments, referrals, and/or authorizations preferred.
•Experience collecting co-payments or other patient financial responsibilities preferred.
•High-volume patient service and telephone experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS:
No specific certification required.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
•Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM.
•Working knowledge of computers and electronic healthcare systems.
•Experience with electronic medical records and/or scheduling systems preferred.
•Microsoft Office experience preferred, including Word and Excel.
•Ability to accurately enter and maintain patient demographic, insurance, scheduling, and billing information.
•Ability to navigate multiple systems to verify patient information and ensure records remain accurate and consistent.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
•Broad understanding of clinic operations and patient service workflows.
•Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with patients, parents/guardians, providers, and staff.
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information.
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
•Must complete required Ambulatory Services training and pass competency assessments, including a mock clinic.
•Reliable attendance and punctuality.
•Ability to float to other clinics or Regional Outpatient Centers as needed for coverage.
•Ability to recognize concerns, verify information, and escalate issues appropriately when clarification is needed.
