Job description

Position Summary
The IT Deployment Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, deployment, and support of end-user computing devices and technology solutions across the organization. This role works closely with IT teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful hardware and software rollouts, system upgrades, office moves, and technology refresh initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and experienced in deploying and troubleshooting enterprise technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and image desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Install, upgrade, and support operating systems, software applications, and security updates.
  • Perform device refreshes, hardware replacements, office relocations, and technology deployment projects.
  • Configure and support peripherals including monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, and conferencing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware, software, and related assets.
  • Execute deployment activities according to established project plans, timelines, and technical standards.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripheral issues during deployment activities.
  • Coordinate device setup, delivery, and collection with end users and business teams.
  • Document deployment procedures, configurations, and support activities.
  • Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including equipment provisioning and account setup.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies, asset management standards, and software licensing requirements.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate support teams when needed.
  • Assist with technology pilots, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, desktop support, field services, or deployment services.
  • Experience deploying Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and endpoint management tools.
  • Experience imaging devices using tools such as Microsoft Intune, SCCM/MECM, Autopilot, or similar solutions.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN connectivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift and transport technology equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel between office locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
  • Experience with enterprise deployment projects involving 500+ devices.
  • Familiarity with asset management and IT service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience supporting conference room technology and collaboration platforms.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Wyoming, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
