CloudHQ has state-of-the-art data center sites located in two Northern Virginia locations, as well as London, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, and Sao Paulo, and we anticipate exponential growth over the next several years both in the US and abroad.
What The Role Entails
CloudHQ is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Manager with a solid background in data center mechanical plant operating experience. The ideal candidate for this role shall possess a comprehensive knowledge of large-scale data centers, including mechanical and fire protection infrastructures. In addition, the candidate shall have a thorough understanding of building automation systems that assist in the operation and control of the mechanical plant infrastructure. The Assistant Mechanical Manager shall schedule, coordinate and participate in all significant planned and emergency maintenance for the facility. The Assistant Mechanical Manager shall ensure that these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method that ensures the uninterrupted integrity of the critical loads supported by these systems.
What You Will Get To Do
  • Developing operating and maintenance strategies to ensure continuous availability of all critical systems
  • Developing and updating preventative and predictive maintenance programs for essential equipment
  • Develop procedures and maintenance checklists within the sites CMMS platform
  • Coordinating and inspecting services performed by outsourced vendors.
  • Managing costs and budgets associated with the Mechanical and associated operations
  • Maintaining an environment where diligence to policies and proven processes are quintessential
  • Ensuring best practices and standards are adopted and enforced
  • Ensure all safety measures are in place and that safety equipment inspections/certifications are up to date
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for innovation
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships with key contacts internally and externally.

Requirements
What You Bring To The Role
  • Expertise in reading design Microsoft Office suite applications, preferably Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio or AutoCad
  • Proven written communication skills and technical writing skills
  • Complex problem-solving using analysis, and technical and organizational expertise
  • Identify industry trends and articulate implications that will have an impact on the Data Center operations
  • Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Extended hours may be significant at times
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emails after hours in the event of an emergency

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in operations and maintenance in a high-reliability Data Center environment
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent
