About the role:

As a Mechanical Engineer I you will display knowledge within engineering discipline to perform, with direct guidance, routine design, analysis, and evaluations of technical products and services and prepare appropriate supporting documentation

You will report to the Fuel Handling Engineer Manager and be located at Shoreview, MN. This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Shoreview, MN located 20-minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Hybrid remote/in-office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop skills necessary to assume more independent assignments.
  • Work in a team environment with a group of engineers and take direction from project managers.
  • Communicate with internal groups, customers, and vendors to obtain necessary information to complete work assignments.
  • Support manufacturing and field service during fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.
  • Solve routine technical problems.
  • Help develop and maintain cost standardization.
  • Conduct and lead design and design for manufacturability reviews.
  • Perform resource/hour forecasting and tracking.
  • Communicate areas for product/service improvements to management personnel.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in processes on continuing basis and support implementation.
  • Perform work within established scope, budgetary and schedule requirements.
  • Resolve Corrective Action issues and support process improvement efforts within department and company.
  • Identify and help develop new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 0+ years of experience.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400 to $73,000 per year.
