Food Production Equipment Mechanic/ Engineer

We are a family owned, premier natural food and beverage manufacturer located in Springfield Oregon. We are seeking an experienced mechanic, engineer, exceptional mind, to join our team. Preference given to those who have history working with machinery in a food manufacturing setting.
 
We are looking for a unique individual who is able to assess a machine, understand it’s order of operation and prioritize steps to keep it running at peak performance.

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for:
  • Troubleshooting machinery and equipment on production lines to get production operational in a timely, safe manner
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime hours
  • Conducting equipment changeovers based on the production needs
  • Adhering to safety protocols including Lock Out - Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment, Risk Assessment, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical systems such as relay logic, variable frequency drives (VFD’s), different types of sensors and other general electrical components
  • Fabricating or modify existing and new equipment to comply with functional and sanitary requirements i.e., UL/ETL, NSF
  • Installing or repair pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Moving heavy equipment to different areas of the plant using forklifts and powered pallet jacks
Qualifications:
  • Must be a team player with excellent people and organization skills.
  • Mechanical experience working on manufacturing machines and equipment including but not limited to mixers, presses, conveyor systems, grinders, packaging equipment such as fillers, labelers, daters, boxers, palletizers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on the operational needs.
  • Ability to read AutoCAD drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and manufacturing manuals.
  • Physical requirements include: frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs; for instances when an employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs, experience working in teams of two and/or using the proper equipment and tools for the job/task at hand; ability to walk on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 2 hours or more; ability to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently; occasional working at heights using required safety equipment above 10 ft; exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, chemicals, etc. using required personal protective equipment as appropriate.
