POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Supervisor for the Mechanical Engineering Team in a matrixed organization structure, reporting to the Engineering Manager and responsible for the daily activities of Mechanical Engineering Team.  The Team Lead maintains daily contact with team engineers as they work on various projects, supervising their application of engineering principles and ensuring compliance with engineering guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Supervise the daily activity of Mechanical Engineering Team.
  • Maintain compliance to engineering best practices and standards within team and enforce configuration management principles.
  • Technical Lead for the mechanical engineers, guiding engineers in making technical decisions and checking designs.
  • Assure conformance of designs to customer specifications and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Assure consistency of design concepts across various designs, ensuring that proven existing design concepts are appropriately leveraged to new projects.
  • Assist engineers in planning and scheduling activities for their projects.
  • Review and approve engineering work done by ME Team.
  • Supervise various engineering tasks, including sales order review and vendor defect management.
  • Train new arrivals in the engineering and other processes used by company.
  • Other assignments as designated by department manager.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Quality Compliance: establish standards and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001:2008.
  • Maintain currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed
