Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Materials Engineer for a Corporate team in Rutland VT. The Materials Engineer will support product development, manufacturing processes, quality initiatives, and customer applications by leveraging expertise in materials science and engineering. This role works cross-functionally with R&D, Sales, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Procurement to develop, improve, and optimize products and processes. 


Key Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Provide technical expertise in material selection, characterization, testing, and performance evaluation. 
  • Support the development and improvement of insulation materials, laminates, composites, and related products. 
  • Analyze material properties and manufacturing processes to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. 
  • Collaborate with R&D teams on new product development and product enhancement projects. 
  • Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. 
  • Develop and maintain material specifications, testing procedures, and technical documentation. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Experience interpreting technical data and laboratory test results. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred. 
  • Experience with composites, laminates, electrical insulation materials, polymers, adhesives, or advanced manufacturing. 
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
