Job description

We are seeking Experienced Diesel Mechanics for our repair facility in Crestwood, IL, to repair our fleet of semi-trucks and trailers. Technicians should have a minimum of 3 years experience repairing heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or school/transit buses. This position is primarily shop-based, with additional responsibilities that include roadside and field repair work as needed.

Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system diagnostics; replace and repair major internal engine components, transmission repairs, and rebuilds. Perform DOT annual inspections on medium/heavy-duty vehicles and trailers.

Use computer diagnostic equipment. Conduct inspections and tests to ensure vehicles and equipment are in proper working condition. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

Qualifications: 3 - 5 years of experience working as a diesel mechanic Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and components. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Compensation: $35 - $40/hr.

Wage rang is based on experience level, certification and qualifications. Benefits include: 100% company paid health coverage for all employees and family. 401K Paid Holidays Paid Time Off Paid Sick Days Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday-Friday.

OT paid after 40 hours. Should be flexible to work the occasional Saturdays. All successful candidates will be subjected to a pre-employment background check.
