Position Summary
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to rebuild major components for mechanical drive heavy equipment trucks including but not limited to rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assembles and differentials.
Mechanic III is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and machinery through expert diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance. This hands-on role is integral to minimizing downtime and supporting smooth operational workflows within engineering-focused organizations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with as a team to assist with or teardown large and small components and assemblies
  • Clean and prep parts for inspection
  • Move components by operating overhead cranes, jib hoists and pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
  • Prepare and secure parts for transportation throughout the shop area
  • Maintain a level of cleanliness throughout your work areas and the shop for good housekeeping and safety
  • Perform NDT testing
  • Required to fill out inspection documents completely, i.e. Complete all inspection packet forms and upload all needed pictures to proper files for quotes and estimates
  • Read maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Use material analyzer to detect coatings and identify parent material
  • Lead team projects and help with training level I and II Technicians sharing knowledge and skills
  • Perform all paint and wash bay functions
  • Proficient at using and reading micrometers and other instruments for inspections
  • Perform all process on sub-assemblies
  • Maintains high quality standard on all tasks and meets time requirements assigned to each job
  • Assemble major components with limited oversight
  • Learn processes of the remanufacturing of major components
  • Resolve small or routine discrepancies and bring high level problems to supervisor for resolutions.
  • Use of the ERP Management System
  • Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shop
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Profile
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification in mechanics or related fields preferred.
Proven experience as a mechanic in an industrial, automotive, or engineering environment.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in ERP Management System is required.
Complex mechanical aptitude is required.
Proficient with common hand and power tools, machinery, and precision tooling.
Familiarity with technical documents, diagrams, and blueprints is required.
Ability to operate a variety of supporting equipment is preferred.
Behavioral Skills
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
Effective time management and ability to work independently or in a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork and reporting.
Strong decision-making skills and accountability is required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, lift, bend, and maneuver for extended periods.
Comfortable working in potentially noisy, hot, or industrial environments.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs is a requirement.
