Job description

Job Summary: 

The Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 is an entry level position reporting to and receiving daily work assignments from the Maintenance Manager. With readily available technical guidance, this position helps keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. 

Shift Hours: A Shift = 6am- 230pm, Monday-Friday 

May need to work over 8 hours/day, which may constitute overtime, as required to meet production needs and/or customer requirements. 

Specific duties include: 

  • Complete training within 6 months and demonstrate the ability to safely and effectively support and maintain production equipment as well as the internal and external building premises for the Kent, WA facilities. 

  • Ability to use basic maintenance equipment and tools. 

  • Ability to learn to read and understand precision measurement equipment and tools. 

  • Ability to use manual and powered pallet jacks. 

  • Ability to use forklift and maintain certification. 

  • Possess the ability to learn and understand company’s “Lean” initiatives and goals and their relationship to the Maintenance Department. 

  • Possess the ability to clean machines, conveyors, and general work areas. 

  • Follow all standard operating procedures. 

  • Adhere to all safety practices and ability to understand and use LOTO. 

  • Possess the ability to paint, clean, or complete any other duties that may be assigned. 

  • Adhere to safety compliance in accordance with EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) policy. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Ability to stand while working. 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. 

  • Ability to complete simple math computations.  

  • Must be willing to work any shift, 8 or 10-hour work days, and possible overtime as required to meet customer requirements.  

  • Must be able to work both independently and with other mechanics and production staff to complete assigned tasks.   

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.  

  • Must supply own basic hand tools.
