Job Summary:

The Mechanic Helper plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team. This position requires an aptitude for mechanical work and a foundational understanding of internal combustion engines, power transmission, electronics, and hydraulic systems. The role is physically demanding and directly supports senior mechanics and overall company operations. 

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, oil sampling, greasing, and pressure washing equipment.
  • Clean radiators and filter housings using compressed air and operate air compressors.
  • Operate various vehicles and mobile equipment, including fuel trucks, lube trucks, forklifts, pumps, light towers, power tools, and hoists.
  • Complete minor documentation tasks such as inspections, oil sample analysis, and maintenance reports.
  • Perform extended manual labor, including lifting, shoveling, stocking shelves, sweeping, and general upkeep of the equipment and work area.
  • Follow instructions, policies, and procedures as directed.
  • Conduct minor equipment repairs, perform pre-start inspections, and check fluid levels to ensure equipment is safe and ready for operation.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
