Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring product flow, rotation, and correct packaging, labeling and boxing of product, keeping FIFO and all in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Ensure all Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations are followed at all times to keep our processing procedures within the federal guidelines.
  • Prior to start up sanitize all machines and properly assemble as well as proper shut down, cleaning and sanitation of machines at end of shift.
  • Basic knife skills to assist the manufacture sausage and beef patties. Assemble product based on work order. Record all used product on required WIP sheets provided. Transport product and orders to required holding or shipping areas.
  • Put-Aways, Picks, & Pulls
    • Unload and put away incoming orders, put away and pull stock items
    • Pick non-cut items from cooler and freezer
    • Pick sub primal for order to be expedited
  • Manage cooler for retrievals and transfers
  • Other duties as assigned by manager on duty

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read and write English, and perform basic math skills
  • Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision
  • Must be able to adapt and react to changing needs and priorities
  • Ability to comprehend work orders so that they will be packaged and labeled the proper way
  • Must have excellent observation skills to prevent, out-of-quality situations and production line problems
  • Basic knife skills and operating knowledge of the following: Band saw, cubing machine, meat slicer, patty machine, tenderizer, banding machine, portion scales, sausage stuffer, meat grinder, pallet jack and label printer
  • Previous experience in packaging or manufacturing operations including operating knowledge of Dixie Skin pack, Multipack/pouch forming machines and chamber vacuum machines.

Salary:

  • $17.00- $19.00/ hour

Shift:

  • Monday- Friday, 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift 70 pounds using correct lifting techniques.
  • Work in a refrigerated environment at 42 degrees
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
