Meat Department Manager | Piggly Wiggly The Role: Master the Market & Lead the Craft

As the Meat Manager, you are the strategic lead of one of our most vital departments. This is a role for a commercial-minded leader who understands both the art of butchery and the science of retail. You will take full ownership of the department's success—from establishing vendor relationships and curated product ranges to driving profitability through smart pricing and promotions. Your goal is to foster sustainable growth while maintaining the high standards of quality our neighbors expect.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Growth: Apply high-level planning to determine department objectives, focusing on maximizing consumer appeal, sales, and long-term profitability.
  • Financial & Performance Oversight: Coordinate budgets and review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to measure productivity and hit aggressive goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the recruitment, training, and daily supervision of your staff. You will set unit policies, conduct performance reviews, and mentor your team in excellence.
  • Merchandising & Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to improve our product range. You'll oversee all department pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Operational Integrity: Ensure the department operates with maximum efficiency while adhering to all company policies and safety standards.
