Job Description:
Electrician – Set B / Building Power & Telecommunications Infrastructure will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building electrical power and telecommunications infrastructure. The successful candidate will have experience with building power systems, electrical distribution, low-voltage telecommunications infrastructure, and structured cabling.
Location
• OCONUS- Egypt
Responsibilities:
• Install, terminate, test, and commission building electrical power and distribution systems, including high-side/medium-voltage systems.
• Install feeders, transformers, switchgear, panelboards, disconnects, and related electrical distribution equipment.
• Install EMT, IMC, RMC, and PVC conduit, cable trays, raceways, and supports for electrical and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic telecommunications cabling.
• Install and support telecommunications infrastructure in MDF/IDF rooms, equipment rooms, and building pathways.
• Install and terminate patch panels, telecommunications outlets, data/voice cabling, and related low-voltage infrastructure.
• Perform cable moves, adds, and changes and troubleshoot telecommunications cabling infrastructure.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, telecommunications drawings, and cable schedules.
• Perform electrical and low-voltage testing and maintain accurate installation and as-built documentation.
• Follow NEC, OSHA, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable telecommunications standards.
• Assist with inventory management of electrical, cabling, and telecommunications materials and equipment.
• Other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements:
Active Top Secret clearance.
Minimum 5 years of proven Set B electrician experience or experience in a similar role.
Experience with building power, electrical distribution, feeders, transformers, switchgear, and panelboards.
Experience installing conduit, cable trays, raceways, and electrical infrastructure.
Experience with copper and fiber optic cable installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.
Experience with telecommunications infrastructure, structured cabling, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF rooms, and patch panels.
Strong knowledge of electrical and network cabling standards, including NEC, TIA/EIA, ANSI, and BICSI.
Proficiency with electrical and low-voltage testing equipment, including cable analyzers and OTDRs.
Ability to read electrical and telecommunications drawings and documentation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work at heights and in confined spaces.
Preferred:
Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
OSHA 30 Certification.
Current BICSI certification or ability to acquire after hire OR Leviton OEM Certification.
BICSI Installer, BICSI Technician, or BICSI RCDD certification.
Knowledge of DoS Overseas Building Operations environment.
Experience supporting U.S. Embassy or other federal construction projects.
Experience developing bills of material related to electrical, telecommunications, or technology systems.
