This position is hybrid so candidates must be local to the Chantilly, Va area and must hold an active DoD secret clearance.Accelera Solutions is looking for a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) (Hyper-V/ VMWare) Engineer to provide a common set of required EIT services across USAF bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations.As a VDI Engineer, you will be responsible to contribute in the planning and lead to automate deployment of virtual machines (VMs) that will be used for development of future services. You will build and maintain the VDI infrastructure and supporting base images. You will be responsible for implementing best practice configurations that optimize the virtual infrastructure, network, storage, and overall environment of the solution.In this role, you will be part of a team providing solutions to technical issues related to networking, computing, and security. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems, performing network maintenance and operations, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with their services. You will also be responsible for documenting and communicating technical information to clients, as well as collaborating with other team members to develop and implement new solutions.You will work with your manager to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. This includes participation in Planning, Backlog refinement and prioritization, and Retrospectives. You will participate in the full life cycle of activities including deployment and validation efforts to ensure product success and will follow all established processes and standards.Responsibilities:• Contribute to the design and implement VDI solutions that align with the organization's goals and requirements. This includes hardware and software components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.• Implement and maintain security best practices for VDI• Monitor VDI performance, identify potential issues, and recommend and implement solutions following standard release processes. Optimize infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource utilization issues.• Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support application development and deployment.• Maintain documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.Required:• Active DoD Secret clearance• Microsoft Server Administrator Associate Certification• 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).• 5+ years’ experience setting up and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure and Kubernetes• 5+ years’ experience integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud): Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation• 5+ years’ experience in handling logs and metrics at a high scale• 5+ years’ experience with Azure, Virtualization, Windows Servers, Window 11, M365, Networks, Storage and Active Directory• 5+ years’ hands-on experience creating, analyzing, and automating Linux scripts (Python, Command, Bash, C, Ansible)• 3+ years’ cumulative experience with Hyper-V and VMWare (implementing, managing, configuring)• 3+ years’ cumulative experience with log management, network firewalls, and testing.
