POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for functions related to transfer articulation evaluation and works closely with academic department offices across campus. This position reports to the Registrar.

Position Duties/Responsibilities
The Student Records Specialist will:
- Evaluate and articulate transcripts of transfer students.
- Determine accreditation and transfer credits based on criteria as dictated by university policy, University of Louisiana System rules, and Louisiana Board of Regents regulations.
- Determines course equivalencies using research, analysis methods, and collaboration with academic departments.
- Coordinates the collection, dissemination, organization, and maintenance of transfer credit information.
- Oversees the transfer credit articulation process, ensuring that transferred coursework equates to McNeese courses when applicable.
- Processes transfer credits from military transcript evaluations and international credit evaluations.
- Troubleshoots and maintains transfer articulation in the student information system and third party transfer evaluation system used by the university.
- Evaluates prior learning assessment programs as accepted by the university including but not limited to CLEP, AP exam scores, credit based exams, and university advanced placement programs.
- Assists the Registrar with the review and maintenance of the Louisiana Articulation Matrix with Common Course Numbering.
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of articulation agreements with other post-secondary institutions.
- Works with technical staff to resolve problems as they arise.
- Consistently monitors and revises work procedures to improve operations and recommends policy changes to administrators.
- Maintains an up-to-date procedure manual for processes pertaining to transfer evaluation process both within and outside of the office.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Registrar or Executive Director of Enrollment Management.
Required/Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.

- Proficiency in the use of computers; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; ability to search and obtain information from the internet.
Preferred
:
- Experience with Ellucian Banner
- Experience with Transfer Evaluation System (TES) and/or College Source
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Knowledge of collegiate educational systems.
