MCAT Prep Instructor - Chicagoland Area

Job Description

Kaplan North America, the world leader in test preparation, is hiring MCAT test prep enthusiasts to our regional teaching team based in the Chicagoland area. In traveling to different locations across the area to teach MCAT preparation classes, this position offers an exciting opportunity to impact future generations of doctors by helping them succeed on their medical school admissions test. Locations serviced by this role may include, but are not limited to: University of Chicago, Loyola, and the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Teachers receive paid training, teach from a pre-existing curriculum, and have access to ongoing development to build their teaching, presenting, and mentoring skills.

This is a great role for current medical students, gap-year graduates, upper-level undergraduates preparing for medical school applications, Master's graduates, PhD candidates, or post-doctoral researchers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach in-person MCAT preparation sessions across a variety of regional locations

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver MCAT prep and/or other educational content tailored to student needs

  • Prepare future doctors for this rigorous exam using teaching methods and a carefully curated curriculum to fully immerse students in the language of the MCAT

  • Support students both in and out of class, enabling them to solve problems with critical thinking across the sciences

  • Continue to learn via world-class professional training, coaching, and development

  • Enjoy a flexible, part-time teaching schedule

  • Connect with colleagues remotely while completing training and class prep from the comfort and convenience of home

  • Potential for additional part-time employment opportunities based on business needs and meeting certain requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Scores above 515 on the MCAT

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to work independently with a remote manager

  • Passion for helping others achieve their goals

  • Respond to quickly changing needs with agility and flexibility

  • Travel required- lead time, locations and dates will be determined based on business needs and availability
