SEWS-El Paso Customer Service Center (Eastside)
Job Title Material Control Planner II
Purpose is to procure mass production raw material required for wire harness business as needed, while balancing physical inventory and preventing line shutdown. Customer Service functions: Planner must review entire pipeline and consider PO Cancellation, PO Push outs, urgent orders, normal orders, etc. all with the goal of maintaining a steady supply without exceeding Material Controls inventory goals (USD).
Planner needs to have strong communication with assigned vendors and review of POs, backorders, forecast, expedite requests, or any delivery issues. Weekly review, release, and interpretation of weekly forecast and backorder reports
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review, release, and interpret forecast information to assigned vendor base. Review of backorders and issuance of Supplier Delivery Non Conformance and Payment Deduction Notice to vendor base.
  • Planner will consistently provide responses to Plant and Warehouse SPCL's, leaving no part number without pertinent information such as ETA and Plant DOH based on ship history.
  • Provide consistent support to MC and other pertinent departments for pending supplier invoice payments related to the following but not limited to, late or lack of delivery, receiving by supply warehouse, supplier discrepancy, etc.
  • Inform production plants of material arrivals and or advise of any potential problems there production can encounter. Generation of forecast report, inventory report, obsolescence control, downtime, and others as needed.
  • Follow up on any activities requested such as setting meetings with suppliers, follow up on discrepancy issues, invoice issues and request effective countermeasures from suppliers due to repetitive issues (i.e. delivery issues, backorders, etc.).
  • Assigning of carriers (FedEx/UPS/DHL) when expediting. Tracking and follow up of shipments is required to avoid downtime at plant
  • Flexible work schedule due to supplier internal/External hours of operation as needed.
  • Travel to manufacturing sites as needed for communication and streamlining of the various production phases. This may be required anywhere from 0-5 days per week, depending on the needs of the company.
  • Problem Solving Techniques to include Kaizen Focus.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations required.
  • Effective analytical, written, oral communication, negotiating skills a must.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office such as word, excel, and PowerPoint programs. Excel proficiency is a must.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines
  • Positive attitude and team personality.
  • Some travel required. (Domestic and International)
