Job description

General Description of Position:

Under the direction of the supervisor and/or manager directs the work of subordinates in the rigging group. Trains and coaches inexperienced employees and performs checks on their work. Maintains a stable working relationship with fellow employees and supervisor and/or manager. Assists in establishing and monitoring department goals and objectives, maintain current production and line flow.


Duties (Essential):

Obtain, review and follow instructions for rigging of each boat. Perform drilling operations. Uses caulk gun to create watertight seals. Assemble and install parts and components including dashes, trim, side moldings, fins, rudders, gas tanks, batteries, wiring, steering, control, engine setting, aligning, mounting and component connections. Uses a variety of tools and materials including small hand tools, screw gun, glue, knives, hoist, jigs, fixtures, and fasteners. Pushes deck and hull approximately 100 feet to next workstation. Responsible for ensuring quality in assembly operations. Moves material to and from workstations and maintains clean and orderly workstation.

Reports to work on time for designated shift. Required to adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Works cooperatively with team members Uses computer skills to perform PDA checks. Responds to quality control checks and charts.


Duties (Non-Essential): Perform related duties as assigned.


Education & Work Experience: Requires demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Must be able to use power tools and related assembly equipment. Must be able to read and understand instructions in assembly operations. Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and requirements. Minimum of one-year MasterCraft experience, working in a minimum of seven assembly stations.


Environmental and Working Conditions: Work is performed in production area, in moderate to high noise level. Temperature will vary depending on season of the year. Work area is well ventilated. Requires moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), with or without accommodation, plus bending, walking, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. Talking, hearing and normal vision are required

Skills & Aptitudes:

Language skills - Able to understand spoken instructions with regard to job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English.

Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
