Job description

The Associate Director of the Full-Time MBA Program plays a key role in shaping the student experience for one of the nation's leading MBA programs. As a member of the Full-Time MBA team, this position provides academic advising, student support, program management, and engagement programming for a diverse and high-achieving student population.

This role serves as a trusted resource for students throughout their MBA journey, helping them navigate academic requirements, connect with campus resources, and engage in opportunities that support their personal and professional growth. The Associate Director also leads communications, manages student-focused initiatives, supports major program events, and collaborates with colleagues across the university to deliver an exceptional student experience.

The ideal candidate is student-centered, highly organized, collaborative, and energized by working in a fast-paced academic environment.

Core responsibilities include:Student Advising & Support
  • Serve as a primary academic advisor for a portfolio of Full-Time MBA students.

  • Guide students on curriculum planning, degree requirements, registration, academic policies, and university resources.

  • Support students in achieving academic success and navigating challenges throughout their MBA experience.

  • Build strong relationships with students and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Student Engagement & Programming
  • Develop and support co-curricular programs that enhance leadership development, professional growth, and community engagement.

  • Advise student organizations and support student leaders in planning events and initiatives.

  • Coordinate opportunities including speaker series, case competitions, experiential learning activities, and leadership programs.

  • Manage student programs, including review and distribution of Professional Development Funds.

Program Operations & Communications
  • Lead student communications related to academic planning, registration, and program updates.

  • Develop and maintain student-facing resources and program information.

  • Support academic operations, registration processes, and student success initiatives.

  • Utilize advising and student information systems to monitor student progress and support program effectiveness.

Event Planning & Collaboration
  • Help plan and execute major program events, including orientation, commencement, admitted student events, and other signature MBA experiences.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across academic programs, admissions, career services, leadership development, technology, and student affairs.

  • Partner with faculty, staff, alumni, and external stakeholders to support student success and program goals.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Required
  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 5-8 years of professional experience in higher education, student affairs, academic advising, program management, or a related field required

  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Preferred
  • Master's degree.

  • Experience working with graduate or professional students.

  • Experience designing and implementing student programs, events, or engagement initiatives.

  • Experience with academic advising, student success, or student services.

  • Familiarity with student information systems, learning management systems, or higher education technology platforms.

Additional Information: This position is primarily based on campus and includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities to support student events and program activities. Some local travel or off-site event support may be required.
