Job description

A day in this role

You arrive with a print in hand and leave with finished parts meeting spec. You’ll bring Mazak CNC lathes to life by setting up machines, writing or refining Mazatrol or G‑code programs directly at the control, and proving out first‑piece samples. Throughout the run, you’ll keep a close eye on performance, resolving issues before they become problems and ensuring every part matches the drawing and finish requirements.

What you’ll handle
  • Translate blueprints into Mazatrol or G‑code programs at the machine and complete the full setup.
  • Set up machines: install fixtures, load tooling, establish tool registers and offsets, and dial in machine control settings.
  • Run first‑piece sample parts and verify conformance before releasing to production.
  • Monitor machining cycles, detect malfunctions, and adjust feeds, speeds, tools, and offsets to control the process.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and finish against prints and GD&T callouts.
Controls & platforms you’ll use
  • Mazak controls: Mazatrol T‑32, T+, Fusion, Matrix, and Smooth Control
  • CAM: Mastercam and Mazatrol
About you
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years (preferred) in a production manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on with 2‑, 3‑, and 4‑axis lathes; live tooling and Y‑axis experience is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in G‑code and M‑code programming, CNC programming fundamentals, and production setups.
  • Comfortable with PLC troubleshooting and PLC programming.
  • Experienced on Mazak CNC lathes (2–4 axis) and familiar with CAM software.
  • Exposure to CNC Swiss lathes (Star).
  • Fluent in GD&T and machine setups for repeatable production runs.
Brands you’ll work with
  • Mazak
  • Star
