Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Technical Engineer with 8+ years of Maximo experience and advanced Linux proficiency. This role provides architectural leadership, technical direction, and hands-on implementation expertise to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing MAS environment supporting NASAโ€™s Enterprise operations. The engineer will work closely with cross-organizational leadership, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure consistent platform reliability and adherence to Enterprise integration standards.

*Must reside within 50 miles of a NASA Center.*


Key Responsibilitiesโ€ข Prepare and present project-related information to executive, leadership, and center teams.

โ€ข Lead installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting activities for MAS.

โ€ข Extensive hands-on experience with BIRT reporting and Microsoft Power BI.

โ€ข Experience with Enterprise (multi-org, multi-site) reporting platforms and data segregation enforcement via Row-Level Security (RLS).

โ€ข Demonstrate advanced knowledge of IBM Maximo architecture, automation scripting, and the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including REST API integrations.

โ€ข Lead technical design of Enterprise integration architecture supporting NASA Enterprise systems.

โ€ข Lead implementation and configuration of secure API management and authentication standards.

โ€ข Define API messages, error handling, and monitoring strategies for integrations.

โ€ข Perform complex application configuration and develop automation scripts using Python, XML, JavaScript, and JSON.

โ€ข Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems and architecture.

โ€ข Develop and maintain complex scripting for MAS configurations across multiple environments.

โ€ข Configure and support Maximo Mobile, including SSO authentication implementations.

โ€ข Create application configurations in Maximo Mobile using the Maximo Application Framework (MAF) Configuration application to modify MAS configurations.

โ€ข Manage and support Maximo Application Suite user synchronization with Microsoft Entra ID.

โ€ข Demonstrate working knowledge of OpenShift Container Platform within Enterprise Maximo deployments.

โ€ข Perform data modeling to support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting needs.

โ€ข Utilize Jira Service Management (or comparable ticketing systems) to manage and track technical issues and service requests.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Facility/Asset Management, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering or enterprise application support (TRIRIGA, MREF, or Maximo/MAS)
  • Strong hands-on experience administering TRIRIGA, MREF, or Maximo/MAS, including configuration and workflow management
  • Experience supporting multi-environment architectures (development, test, staging, production)
  • Proficiency in diagnosing application, database, and integration issues
  • Experience validating data integrity and supporting reporting enhancements
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, patches, and change deployments
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to support end users and collaborate across teams
  • High attention to detail and commitment to operational reliability

Preferred Qualificationsโ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

โ€ข Minimum 8+ years of Maximo technical engineering experience.

โ€ข Demonstrated expertise in Maximo architecture, MIF, automation scripting, and API integrations.
